Target Audience
Event Learning Objectives
- Analyze how trauma, ACEs, chronic stress, disrupted caregiving, and social determinants of health shape brain development, emotional regulation, behavior, communication, and system involvement across the lifespan.
- Describe how trauma, grief, loss, addiction, and family instability influence coping, decision‑making, and engagement with behavioral health, education, courts, probation, crisis response, and community systems.
- Evaluate evidence‑based and trauma‑informed strategies, including predictability, relational safety, de‑escalation, and regulated adult responses-that strengthen engagement, reduce escalation, and improve outcomes in high‑stress encounters.
- Identify signs of secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, and cumulative stress among professionals, and assess approaches that support regulation, resilience, wellness, and ethical practice across youth‑ and adult‑serving systems.
- Examine how cross‑system fragmentation, communication gaps, and role ambiguity contribute to instability, and outline strategies that strengthen coordination, continuity of care, and shared understanding across behavioral health, education, justice, crisis response, and community partners.
- Analyze the neurobiology of addiction, current drug trends, co‑occurring disorders, and generational cycles of trauma and substance use, and evaluate trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented, and justice‑aligned approaches that improve outcomes for individuals and communities.
- Assess how lived experience, including histories of trauma, caregiving, addiction, and system involvement-can evolve into leadership, advocacy, peer support, and community healing.
